Presidents

Krupa Subramaniam (krupa.subramaniam@yale.edu)

Krupa is an undergraduate at Yale (class of 2025) hailing from Monument, Colorado, in Timothy Dwight College majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, Intensive. Apart from serving as the Co-President for HAPPY, he is also an undergraduate researcher in the Foxman Lab at the Yale School of Medicine, co-president of Yale Demos and Yale’s e-NABLE Student Chapter, actor in Yale Children’s Theatre, and a volunteer for Yale-New Haven Hospital and HAVEN Free Clinic. He also serves as a Student Organization Consultant for the Yale College Dean’s Office and a peer tutor for select courses at Yale. He is very excited to be part of HAPPY’s executive board and more than happy to answer any questions pertaining to service operations and HAPPY’s role in the greater New Haven community!

Timmy Ward (timothy.ward@yale.edu)

Hello! I’m Timmy Ward, and I am a junior in Trumbull College majoring in Statistics and Data Science on the Pre-Med track. I am originally from River Forest, IL, in the suburbs of Chicago. Aside from serving as  HAPPY Co-President, I am involved with Yale Demos, I volunteer with HAVEN Free Clinic, I serve as a peer tutor for introductory calculus, and I am involved in research at Yale. Outside of the classroom, you can find me cheering on my beloved Chicago White Sox or missing jumpshots on the Trumbull intramural basketball team.

My name is Emily Shang and I’m the Co-Director of Service and Community Partnerships. I come from the suburbs of Philadelphia and I study molecular biophysics and biochemistry in the class of 2025. Outside of HAPPY, I like playing online chess and being involved in various other scientific extracurriculars on campus.

Johnny Yue (johnny.yue@yale.edu)

Johnny is currently a sophomore in Trumbull College majoring in MCDB. Whenever he can find time, he likes listening to house music and watching reality TV.  He’s excited to connect more Yale students to New Haven community members through the service projects HAPPY is conducting this year.

My name is Ishan Bansal, and I am the Co-Director of Education. I am a sophomore in Pauli Murray studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and am originally from Seattle, WA. I cannot wait to work with all of you to help educate and drive positive change!

Hi! My name is Rishi and I am a sophomore in Berkeley. I am originally from sunny Windermere, FL, a suburban outgrowth of Orlando. I am so excited to serve as a Co-Director of Education for HAPPY this year and I cannot wait to help drive positive change in our New Haven community with you all!

Sohum Kapadia (sohum.kapadia@yale.edu)

Hi! My name is Sohum, and I’m a junior in Saybrook College majoring in Cognitive Science with a certificate in Statistics & Data Science on the pre-med track. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. On campus, I am in the Yale Glee Club, musical director of Pitches and Tones A Capella, co-president of the Yale South Asian Society, vice-president of the Hindu Students Organization, and do research through the Yale Medical School.

Jason Park is in Saybrook College, set to graduate in 2025. He is majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB).  Jason resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In addition to his academic pursuits, he dedicates time to weightlifting.
